I had a chance to visit Paris once, way back when I was in high school. Never took it because, hey, things that have been around forever are always gonna be there later, right? Not so much, or at least not in the same condition.

It's less bad then they feared. A lot of things were removed for the ongoing renovations and they managed to save all the art, and nobody was hurt.

The structure is still there, and they'll rebuild.
